Submission Guidelines
Who can submit?
Artists three years old and older are eligible to enter. Artists of all disciplines and backgrounds are encouraged to submit. Eligible works include but are not limited to: drawing, painting, illustration, sculpture, printmaking, photography, graphic design, collage, chalk art, installation, mixed media, literary arts, poetry, prose, storytelling, music, songwriting, dance, performance, fashion design, cosmetic, and culinary arts. Be creative!
In addition to twenty honorable mentions receiving a $25 gift card, a $500 grand prize winner will be selected from each of the following age groups:
Kids (ages 3-6), Youth (ages 7-12), Teen (ages 13-18) and Adult (older than 18)

How to submit:
1. Create a work of art that responds to Why We Count! Consider why your community matters and why it is important that everyone is counted on the 2020 Census.
2. Post a public photo or video of your submission to Facebook or Instagram, or email your submission to completecountcle@gmail.com
3. Include the hashtag #completecountcle and the correct hashtag for the age of the artist:
Kids (ages 3-6) #whywecountartcontestkids
Youth (ages 7-12) #whywecountartcontestyouth
Teen (ages 13-18) #whywecountartcontestteen
Adult (older than 18) #whywecountartcontestadult
NOTE: Hashtag used must designate the age of the artist that created the piece of work being submitted.
Timeline
Deadline to submit: Friday, July 31
Selected artists notified: mid-August
Size Guidelines
Photos: Maximum image size 1080 x 1080 pixels, no files larger than 15 MB
Videos: Maximum video width is 1080 pixels, no longer than 2 minutes, no files larger than 15 MB
Contest Criteria
Prompt: Why We Count. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges using the following criteria:

Does the piece respond to the prompt "Why We Count?"

Does the piece respond to the prompt creatively?
